Night at the Museum with Owney the Famous U.S. Postal Dog

Meet Owney the scruffy mutt that served as nine years as the unofficial mascot of the U.S. Railway Mail Service in the late 1800s!
Owney followed the smell of mail, hopping railway cars that transported mail across the country. When Owney arrived at a city, he was greeted with a celebrity's welcome, and postal clerks would attach a medal to the vest that he wore, making his visits known to other postal locations.
Owney is now at the Smithsonian's National Postal Museum and we will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see him live/virtually in Washington D.C., on Thursday, June 17th, at 6 pm, as Smithsonian staff members tell us Owney's complete story and show us the medals that marked his travels.
